Exhibition Opening | Patricia Piccinini 'Centrifugal Love Garden'

Please join us for the opening of Centrifugal Love Garden by renowned Australian artist Patricia Piccinini on Friday 6 March from 6PM – 8PM at Passage Gallery.

Inspired by a visit to a Melbourne medical research laboratory, Patricia Piccinini’s new installation draws on the strange beauty of laboratory-grown organoids. These living forms exist somewhere between cell and organ. Their swirling, suspended motion becomes a metaphor for connection, hybridity and care.

Bringing together kinetic works of floating hair and embracing birdlike figures, the exhibition explores intimacy, interdependence and collective survival. Clustered penguins reference shared warmth as a strategy for endurance, while hybrid beings such as Ghost and Shoeform (Angiosperm) dissolve distinctions between plant, animal and machine. Across the installation, technology and nature are presented not as opposites, but as entangled conditions of contemporary life.
